The portrait of Goethe by Andy Warhol and Ángel Javier Martínez Higueras

One of the most revolutionary artists for Ángel Javier Martínez Higueras is undoubtedly Andy Warhol. Having acquired the work “Goethe” by the American artist, the president of IQGD (The
Institute for Quality Global Democracy) donated this piece for the work of the Foundation. In this piece, the promoter of pop art is masterfully portrayed, with Warhol’s particular style, in the German writer Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. The work is from 1982 and was one of the works most disseminated throughout media of its time. The mixture of colors used by Warhol is one of the most recognizable characteristics of his pieces and in “Goethe,” is particularly exemplified to perfection. Ángel Javier Martínez Higueras has always opted for contemporary art as an intuitive and spontaneous expression of the particular cultural moment to which a society is directed and believes that art is the arrowhead of socio-political and economic changes. For these reasons, art has been an integral part of furthering the work of the Foundation.
